How long is the entire process?

From start-to-finish the process can take between four (4) to eight (8) months. The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) reviews the medical application, processes the adjustments and issues the refund. Therefore, the duration is largely dependant on CRA and their current processing capacity and time-frames.

How much of a refund can I expect?

How much do you charge? Are there any upfront fees?

Our fee is 25% of the income tax refunds, credits and/or benefits generated from CRA as a result of our services. There are absolutely no upfront fees. There is no risk to you. We only get paid if we are successful in obtaining income tax refunds, credits and/or benefits on your behalf.

Where does the money come from? Who pays it to me?

The money you could potentially receive would be in the form of income tax refunds, benefits and/or credits from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

How does CRA determine if I am eligible?

Your eligibility for the DTC does not depend on your diagnosis. CRA looks at the nature of your impairment, whether it is: Vision; Speaking; Hearing; Walking; Eliminating; Feeding; Dressing; and, Mental Functions Necessary for Everyday Life. Your eligibility is determined based on how the symptoms affect your daily quality of life under one or more of the aforementioned categories.

If I do not have a disability, could I potentially be eligible?

Yes! Eligibility for the DTC is not limited to persons with disabilities. If you provided support to a family member with a disability, you could be eligible to claim their DTC. CRA deems eligible support to be (i) shelter; (ii) food; and/or (iii) clothing.

Why have I never heard of this?

You are not alone, many other Canadians haven’t heard of it, despite their potential eligibility. That is where our expertise could be of high value to you. Our expertise allows us to assess your situation and develop a strategy that increases your chances of a successful application and maximizes the value of your claim.
